Neel Dakshy has been a chartered member of RIBA from the since 2007 and an ARB Registered Architect since 2004. Additionally, NDA has recently signed up as a RIBA Chartered Practice.
This change of status gives us more access to resources provided by RIBA and business and practice focussed support.
We are aware of a number of businesses operating without registration with the ARB. Where such businesses operate under the false impression that they are Architects, this would contravene the Architect's Act, 1997. This is akin to an unqualified and unregistered person acting under the impression that they are a Doctor or Lawyer.
We get a number of enquiries each year from people that have been badly let down by such businesses. Sadly it is often too late for us to clear up their mess.
The new Building Safety Act (2022) makes it even more essential that building owners engage suitably qualified professionals, when carrying out building work.
